The US Army has awarded Palantir USG a contract to manufacture and deliver eight Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node (TITAN) ground stations, advancing the program from the prototype stage toward operational deployment.
TITAN is a crewed ground station designed to collect and process data from space-based, high-altitude, airborne, and terrestrial sensors. The order includes four Basic and four Advanced systems.
The Advanced variant will offer greater data-processing and integration capacity, while the lighter Basic version is intended to support faster deployment and improved mobility.
Using artificial intelligence and machine learning, TITAN will process sensor data and generate targeting information for commanders and long-range precision-strike systems. The platform is designed to reduce the time required to detect a potential target, analyze intelligence, and transmit actionable information to Army command-and-control and weapons systems.
Palantir will serve as the prime contractor, overseeing production and supplying the software that powers the stations. The systems will also incorporate hardware and technologies from Anduril Industries, L3Harris Technologies, Sierra Nevada Corporation, Strategic Technology Consulting, and World Wide Technology.
Production development will build on feedback from soldiers who operated earlier TITAN prototypes, helping refine the systems for operational use.
Expanding Role in US Defense Programs
The TITAN contract adds to Palantir’s growing involvement in US military command systems and the broader defense industrial base.
Last month, Mercury Systems selected Palantir software to digitize parts of its factory operations. The initiative is intended to automate production planning and create a virtual model of the company’s manufacturing network, helping identify bottlenecks and increase output of processing systems used across US defense programs.
Earlier this year, the US Army selected Palantir’s Foundry platform as the baseline architecture for its Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) program.
Foundry will provide the cloud environment, while Anduril’s Lattice will manage the tactical data layer. NGC2 is intended to replace fragmented command networks with a shared digital environment connecting sensors, headquarters, weapons, and personnel.
