General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has secured a $1.25-billion task order to provide enterprise IT, communications, and mission command services for the U.S. Army’s operations in Europe and Africa.
As part of the contract, GDIT will modernize the Army’s network infrastructure, enhance mission partner networks, and bolster cybersecurity. The company will also integrate advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, and data analytics.
The contract begins with a five-month transition period and may extend for up to seven additional option years. It covers support for the U.S. Army Europe and Africa headquarters, its subordinate units, NATO, and allied partners.
The initiative aims to create a unified digital backbone that connects soldiers and commanders across dispersed locations, ensuring rapid, secure, and coordinated information sharing during missions.
This award is part of broader U.S. military digital modernization efforts. In August, the Air Force awarded Leidos a $5.7-billion contract to advance its Battle Management System, while the U.S. has also been active in Mission Partner Environment projects to improve secure data exchange with NATO allies.
