The US Army has awarded General Dynamics Land Systems a $54.3 million contract to provide field-level maintenance and sustainment services for its Stryker armored vehicle fleet.
Under the agreement, General Dynamics will deliver original equipment manufacturer support, field service representatives, and fielding assistance when the Army’s electronic technical manuals and logistics products have not yet been fully integrated.
The contract is scheduled to run through August 24, 2031. Specific work locations and funding allocations will be established through subsequent orders.
The Stryker serves as the principal combat and combat-support vehicle for the Army’s Stryker Brigade Combat Teams. The eight-wheeled platform provides infantry forces with protected mobility, firepower, and rapid battlefield maneuverability.
The Stryker family comprises multiple variants designed for missions including infantry transport, reconnaissance, command and control, medical evacuation, engineering, mortar operations, and anti-tank warfare.
Stryker Modernization Efforts
The latest contract forms part of the Army’s ongoing effort to sustain and modernize its Stryker fleet. In December 2025, the service tested an upgraded Stryker equipped with a 30mm autocannon during a weeklong exercise at the Yakima Training Center.
During the exercise, soldiers conducted live-fire operations while using digital command-and-control systems that supplied commanders with real-time battlefield information. The technology enabled adjustments to vehicle positioning and fire-control decisions based on terrain and troop movement.
In March 2025, the Army also received its first Stryker vehicles equipped with redesigned and upgraded “double-V” hulls. The hull configuration is designed to redirect mine and explosive blasts away from the vehicle, improving crew and passenger protection.
Earlier, in February 2025, General Dynamics began assessing advanced armor concepts under the Army’s Stryker Enhanced Armor program. The six-month evaluation is focused on the integration and durability of armor technologies developed by the DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center.
