Aerospace giant Boeing has secured a contract to enhance the electronic warfare capabilities of its MQ-25 Stingray unmanned aerial refueling aircraft, according to a US Department of Defense announcement.
The $12.7-million award covers upgrades to the aircraft’s Radio Frequency Blanker Unit, which is designed to prevent the drone’s transmissions from interfering with its onboard sensors.
The contract also includes work on the Encrypted Mass Storage System, intended to protect data collected and transmitted during flight.
