Adani Defence & Aerospace has launched the development of a ₹4,500 crore integrated missile and propellant manufacturing ecosystem in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, by laying the foundation stone for a facility that is set to become South Asia’s largest private-sector missile manufacturing complex. The groundbreaking event was attended by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, and senior representatives of the Adani Group.
The planned complex will provide end-to-end missile manufacturing capabilities, covering every stage of production from raw materials to fully integrated medium- and long-range missile systems. Beyond final assembly, the facility will manufacture essential components such as composite propellants, TNT, and other high-grade explosive materials, creating a comprehensive defence production ecosystem. Construction is expected to be completed over the next three years, with the project anticipated to create around 5,000 direct and indirect jobs.
The manufacturing ecosystem will incorporate more than 50 specialised MSMEs into its supply network, promoting greater participation of domestic industry in defence production. Located on a 103-acre site near Pali village in the Kolaras region of Shivpuri, the facility enjoys strong logistical connectivity through the Kota Highway and the Mumbai–Gwalior Highway, supporting the movement of heavy and sensitive defence equipment.
The Shivpuri project will further strengthen Adani Defence’s growing manufacturing presence in Madhya Pradesh by complementing its small arms facility in Gwalior. That plant recently supplied 2,000 indigenously produced Prahar Light Machine Guns (LMGs) to the Indian Armed Forces ahead of the scheduled delivery timeline. Together, the two facilities are expected to enhance the Gwalior-Chambal region’s position as an emerging hub for India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem.
