SMARTSHOOTER has been awarded a 5.8-million-shekel ($1.9 million) contract by the Israel Ministry of Defense for the procurement of SMASH Hopper remote weapon stations.

Under the agreement, deliveries will begin by late 2026 and may be followed by a six-month extension covering extra spare parts and technical support. The contract’s overall value could reach 7.4 million shekels ($2.5 million) should all optional provisions be activated.

Designed as a compact remote weapon solution, the SMASH Hopper can be deployed on fixed positions or mobile platforms. The 25-kilogram system is suitable for installation on light vehicles and unmanned assets, enabling operations ranging from urban engagements and border surveillance to the protection of strategic facilities.

The weapon station seamlessly integrates with existing command-and-control systems and supports coordinated engagements alongside other remote weapon platforms. Standard equipment includes a tripod, battery, tilt assembly, remote firing mechanism, SMASH fire-control technology, and a Picatinny mounting interface compatible with M4 5.56 mm and DMR 7.62 mm rifles.

The system provides engagement ranges of up to 800 meters against ground-based targets and 600 meters against aerial threats, enhancing force protection and operational effectiveness across multiple mission environments.
