Saab and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa have agreed to deepen collaboration across a range of naval defense technologies, including submarines, surface vessels, and advanced underwater systems.

Under the agreement, the two companies will cooperate on naval vessel lifecycle support while integrating PGZ’s naval divisions into Saab’s supply network. The partnership also includes plans to jointly market selected maritime platforms for export, including underwater systems and rescue vessels.

Saab and PGZ will additionally evaluate opportunities to manufacture and promote Saab’s Autonomous Ocean Drone platform and explore future cooperation in heavyweight torpedo technologies. As part of the long-term collaboration, the companies intend to establish a dedicated Underwater Technology Centre in Poland.

The move expands upon earlier agreements signed in March focused on submarine maintenance, repair, and overhaul support connected to Poland’s Orka submarine acquisition program.

PGZ has recently accelerated cooperation with international defense partners as Poland continues investing in military modernization and domestic industrial capabilities. In March, the company signed a partnership with Frankenburg Technologies to locally produce Mark I anti-drone missiles, including plans for a Polish manufacturing site with an annual capacity of up to 10,000 units.

That same month, PGZ also reached an agreement with Milrem Robotics to jointly develop unmanned ground vehicle technologies and payload integration solutions. Earlier, in October 2025, the Polish defense group partnered with Rheinmetall to manufacture military support vehicles for the Polish Armed Forces.
