CPI Aerostructures has secured a $13.6 million contract from L3Harris to produce airborne pod structures for the US Navy’s Next-Generation Jammer-Low Band (NGJ-LB) electronic warfare program. The contract, which exceeds the earlier undefinitized award valued at up to $12.1 million, supports the development of next-generation jamming pods intended to replace the aging AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System aboard EA-18G Growler aircraft. The pod structures will be used in operational prototype systems delivered by L3Harris to the US Naval Air Systems Command for fleet assessment, flight qualification, and design validation. Built around a modular open-system architecture, the NGJ-LB is designed to deliver enhanced electronic attack capabilities while allowing rapid technology upgrades. L3Harris is leading the program’s Engineering and Manufacturing Development effort and will supply eight operational prototype pods along with four additional test units. CPI Aerostructures has supported the initiative since 2024 with manufacturing and assembly engineering expertise and recently completed delivery of its first test article. Honeywell Aerospace is also contributing to the program following its selection in June 2025 to assist with NGJ-LB development.
