Canada has approved a major expansion of its Armored Combat Support Vehicle modernization initiative through a new agreement with General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada covering the production of additional wheeled armored vehicles and long-term industrial cooperation. The expanded program strengthens efforts to replace aging legacy fleets with highly versatile armored platforms capable of supporting a broad range of operational roles, including command and control, troop transport, engineering support, casualty evacuation, recovery, and electronic warfare. Built on the proven LAV 6.0 architecture, the vehicles provide enhanced protection, mobility, and mission flexibility for both domestic operations and international deployments. Alongside vehicle production, the strategic partnership establishes a framework for accelerating technology integration, capability upgrades, and lifecycle sustainment while reinforcing Canada’s domestic armored vehicle manufacturing base. The additional production also supports allied security initiatives through planned international deliveries.
