L3Harris Technologies has secured a follow-on contract worth up to $200 million to supply additional solid rocket motors for Lockheed Martin’s GMLRS Insensitive Munition (IM) program.

The order is the first to be fulfilled at L3Harris’ new Camden, Arkansas, manufacturing facility, established with funding from a Defense Production Act Title III cooperative agreement to strengthen domestic production capacity.

Alongside modernised production lines, the Camden facility is intended to meet growing demand from U.S. and partner militaries, enabling large-scale, timely rocket deliveries. The expansion will boost annual production capacity by more than 30 percent.

Manufacturing of inert components will remain at L3Harris’ Advanced Manufacturing Facility–South in Huntsville, Alabama.

The GMLRS is a GPS-guided artillery rocket designed for precision engagement of long-range targets. The IM variant incorporates a reduced explosive hazard warhead, ensuring enhanced safety during transport and storage.

Renowned for its precision and rapid response, GMLRS has become a staple munition for U.S. Army and allied artillery units worldwide.

L3Harris has long supported Lockheed Martin as a propulsion supplier for GMLRS, previously executing contracts that significantly expanded production to meet urgent operational demands. The company has increased output by nearly 80 percent through the adoption of advanced manufacturing techniques.

This award marks the largest 12-month GMLRS IM contract L3Harris has received from Lockheed Martin to date.
