The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) has awarded Airbus Helicopters a contract for two H225 multi-role helicopters, reinforcing its fleet for key search and rescue (SAR) and emergency medical service (EMS) missions. The acquisition underlines the RTAF’s commitment to national defense and humanitarian response.

These aircraft will join the H225Ms already in service since 2015, which have been integral to combat search and rescue (CSAR), general rescue flights, and troop transport operations. In addition, the RTAF’s operation of H135 training helicopters reflects its long-standing partnership with Airbus.

Thai Aviation Industries (TAI) will perform the completion and integration of the new H225s in cooperation with Airbus, ensuring effective local support and technical expertise.

With a global fleet of over 360 H225 and H225M helicopters, the type has amassed close to 980,000 flight hours. Current operators include military forces from France, the Netherlands, Hungary, Brazil, Mexico, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Iraq, and Kuwait.
