Wisconsin-based tactical mobility manufacturer Oshkosh Defense has secured a second direct order to supply military transport vehicles to the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces.
The follow-on procurement, placed through local industry partner Optimum Vehicle Logistics, includes 50 Oshkosh Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) A1 tractors. The order also covers 50 MN573 heavy-duty trailers manufactured in collaboration with Dutch specialist vehicle producer Broshuis BV.
The latest contract follows Morocco’s initial 2024 procurement of an undisclosed number of HET A1 tractors. The vehicles are intended to strengthen the country’s military logistics capabilities, support the transportation of armored platforms across operational theaters, and improve overall force readiness.
The HET A1 vehicles delivered under the initial order have been successfully deployed by the Moroccan Armed Forces, supporting their heavy-equipment transportation requirements.
Oshkosh HET A1 Heavy Equipment Transporter
The Oshkosh HET A1 is engineered to transport heavy tactical vehicles, including main battle tanks and other armored platforms. Its cab can accommodate up to six personnel and incorporates air conditioning along with modular crew-protection technology designed for demanding operational environments.
The vehicle is powered by a 700-horsepower Caterpillar C18 diesel engine paired with an Allison 4800SP automatic transmission. It is also equipped with two heavy-duty winches, each capable of providing up to 55,000 pounds (24,948 kilograms) of pulling capacity, enabling the HET A1 to recover and maneuver heavy military equipment in challenging conditions.
