The US Army has tested the integration of the FireAnt small robotic system with the M2A4 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle, demonstrating a potential approach for deploying artificial intelligence-enabled swarms of ground drones.

Footage released by FireAnt developer Swarmbotics AI showed five unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) mounted on the side racks of a Bradley operated by the US Army’s 1st Cavalry Division.

The evaluation took place during the Pegasus Charge 3 exercise, which showcased emerging autonomous systems, tactical weapon technologies, and counter-drone capabilities supporting the Army’s Transformation in Contact modernization initiative.
