US defence company Textron Systems has unveiled CoreMotion, a vehicle control package designed to integrate autonomous capabilities into new and legacy ground vehicles.
The system acts as an intermediary between autonomy software and a vehicle’s hardware architecture, converting software-generated instructions into operational functions, including steering control, braking, and power management. The approach could allow militaries to upgrade existing vehicle fleets for robotic operations without developing entirely new platforms.
