The THUNDART rocket program has reached an important development stage as MBDA and Safran Electronics successfully moved the system from design phase to demonstration within 18 months.
Testing at France’s Île du Levant range validated the weapon’s structural integrity and overall configuration, with early performance targets reportedly surpassed during the evaluation.
Roxel, a subsidiary of MBDA, delivered the propulsion technology for the rocket, while Safran equipped the system with its modular AASM air-to-ground guidance package, increasing operational versatility in different combat scenarios.
