Electro Optic Systems (EOS) has been awarded a contract to develop an integrated R400 SLINGER remote weapon system, combining a laser-guided rocket and a machine gun to strengthen Australia’s counter-drone defence capabilities.
Designed as a next-generation remote weapon station, the R400 SLINGER offers an effective solution for engaging and neutralizing small- and medium-sized unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), addressing increasingly complex airborne threats on the modern battlefield.
Production and lifecycle support of the system will be carried out in Australia, reinforcing domestic defence manufacturing, supporting local industry, and expanding the nation’s sovereign defence capabilities.
