Northrop Grumman has showcased a major advancement in autonomous aviation by enabling its Talon IQ testbed aircraft to change AI control systems during flight without mission interruption.
During the trial, the aircraft began its mission using Prism autonomy software and then smoothly handed over control mid-air to solutions from Applied Intuition and Accelint.
This multi-system handover validates Prism’s capability to integrate and operate third-party autonomy software while adhering to US government interoperability and architecture requirements.
