India is set to boost its early warning infrastructure through the development of a next-generation 4D AESA long-range surveillance radar utilizing Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology. Designed to detect targets beyond 450 kilometers and monitor altitudes up to 40 kilometers, the system will expand the country’s situational awareness across a broader operational envelope.
The radar will also integrate X-band capabilities for precise tracking of low-signature and autonomous aerial threats, including quadcopters, loitering munitions, and coordinated drone swarms, enhancing defense against evolving airborne risks.
