L3Harris Technologies has awarded a contract to Polish state-owned Wojskowe Zakłady Elektroniczne S.A. to manufacture propulsion-related components for the Patriot PAC-3 missile defense system. The order covers Attitude Control Motors used in PAC-3 interceptors deployed by the U.S. military and allied nations.
PAC-3 missiles employ hit-to-kill interception to neutralize incoming ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and aircraft threats. Each interceptor is equipped with 180 Attitude Control Motors that provide precise in-flight course corrections for improved accuracy.
Production will be conducted at WZE’s facility in Zielonka following the deployment of specialized manufacturing equipment and training sessions conducted at L3Harris’ rocket motor facility in Camden, Arkansas. The company has confirmed that WZE has successfully completed readiness and verification assessments and will soon begin low-rate initial production.
This initiative forms part of expanding defense industrial cooperation between L3Harris and Poland. Previous engagements include selection of L3Harris’ Integrated Platform Management System for Polish naval vessels, collaborative testing of VAMPIRE counter-UAV systems with Thales, and the establishment of electro-optical and infrared sensor production capabilities in Katowice to support intelligence and surveillance missions across Europe.
