Anduril and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. (PGZ) will establish a manufacturing facility in Bydgoszcz, Poland, to produce the surface-launched Barracuda-500M (SLB-500M) cruise missile.
The project is part of a cooperation agreement signed by the two companies, building upon the memorandum of understanding they concluded in October 2025. Under the partnership, PGZ subsidiary WZL-2 will oversee missile production for the Polish Armed Forces at its Bydgoszcz manufacturing site, a city recognized as the “NATO Capital of Poland” for hosting major alliance facilities, including the Joint Force Training Centre.
The agreement also includes a phased localization strategy to strengthen the European supply chain, with the objective of producing a Barracuda missile that is primarily manufactured in Europe and compliant with SAFE requirements.
According to PGZ President Adam Leszkiewicz, the collaboration is intended to enable the rapid production and delivery of several thousand cost-effective, autonomous long-range cruise missiles equipped with advanced technologies.
The SLB-500M is armed with a 100-pound (45-kilogram) payload capable of striking both land and maritime targets at ranges greater than 500 nautical miles (926 kilometers/575 miles). First unveiled in September 2024 as part of Anduril’s Barracuda-M missile family, the system is engineered for scalable, low-cost production. Earlier this year, the Pentagon awarded Anduril a contract to deliver a minimum of 3,000 fully assembled SLB-500M systems over a three-year period.
