Indra is progressing with the development of up to 147 Tarsis tactical drones for Spain, bringing the country closer to deploying its first domestically produced tactical unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

The drones are being developed under Spain’s Special Modernization Program for Medium-Range Unmanned Aerial Systems (SANTAM), a €364 million ($420 million) initiative aimed at strengthening unmanned capabilities across the Spanish Army, Navy, and Air and Space Force.

Deliveries of the Tarsis systems are scheduled to begin in 2028, marking a significant step toward expanding Spain’s indigenous tactical UAS capabilities.
