The Air National Guard is exploring immersive simulation solutions to enhance the realism and effectiveness of military defense training.

As part of this initiative, a Pennsylvania-based Air National Guard unit will assess Virtuix’s AI-enabled Omni One VR system to determine its potential role in improving military preparedness. The evaluation will focus on whether the platform can deliver more effective training through AI-driven scenarios combined with full-body movement in realistic operational environments.

Omni One features an omnidirectional treadmill paired with a virtual reality headset and motion-tracking accessories, allowing users to move naturally by walking, running, crouching, kneeling, and changing direction within simulated settings. Unlike conventional VR systems that rely on handheld controllers, the platform maps real physical movement directly into the virtual environment.

Tailored for defense use, the system supports mission planning, tactical rehearsals, and scenario-based exercises by enabling military personnel to physically navigate virtual operational spaces ahead of live training exercises.

The Air National Guard evaluation marks Virtuix’s first deployment with the service and strengthens the company’s growing presence within the US military. The initiative builds on recent defense projects, including an AFWERX contract for the Virtual Terrain Walk platform, a virtual infantry training collaboration with the US Marine Corps, and deployments with the US Military Academy at West Point.
