Cubic Defense will supply advanced air combat training subsystems for Lockheed Martin’s Lot 21 production batch of Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II aircraft.
The new follow-on contract builds upon a November 2025 agreement supporting the F-35 training ecosystem and includes 140 P5 Internal Subsystem (IS) units. Production activities will be conducted by Cubic together with key subcontractor Leonardo DRS.
Integrated within the larger P5 Combat Training System (P5CTS), the P5 IS allows fourth- and fifth-generation combat aircraft to participate in realistic live-flight training exercises while protecting classified operational tactics and procedures.
The P5CTS network records, transmits, and evaluates comprehensive mission-training data collected from military aircraft during exercises. It also supports both live and post-mission performance analysis, enhancing interoperability and combat readiness across the United States Air Force, United States Marine Corps, United States Navy, and coalition air forces.
