Swedish defense company Saab has received an estimated $46 million contract from the US Army to supply an undisclosed quantity of Giraffe 1X radars.
The agreement, intended to enhance support for security cooperation partners, will begin deliveries in 2026.
The Giraffe 1X is a highly mobile 3D radar weighing less than 150 kilograms (330 pounds), adaptable for vehicle, naval, or stationary deployment.
Providing continuous situational awareness, it detects hostile drones and missiles at extended ranges while linking target information directly to command-and-control networks.
