At a K9 User Club gathering in Estonia, Hanwha Aerospace presented a new operational concept designed to enable faster and more precise artillery strikes on the battlefield.

The proposed concept integrates K9 howitzers with vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Under this arrangement, the drones would serve as forward-deployed assets, identifying and tracking threats before generating target coordinates and transmitting them to the K9’s fire-direction system.
