The Gripen F, Saab’s new twin-seat fighter aircraft, has made its public debut, expanding the Gripen family with a platform optimized for both combat operations and pilot training. Jointly developed with Brazilian partners, the aircraft mirrors the capabilities of the Gripen E, featuring identical mission systems, sensors, and flight performance while incorporating a second crew station.
The dual-cockpit configuration allows instructors to train and mentor pilots during live missions from within the aircraft itself, enhancing situational awareness and mission realism. By combining advanced training functionality with full operational capability, the Gripen F offers air forces a versatile solution for preparing pilots for modern combat environments.
