A next-generation artillery contender has emerged for the Canadian Army with the introduction of the Grizzly 10×10 mobile howitzer by General Dynamics Land Systems Canada. The system incorporates a 155mm gun supplied by KNDS Deutschland, reflecting a collaborative effort to create a modern self-propelled artillery platform capable of meeting evolving battlefield requirements.
At the heart of the Grizzly is an advanced unmanned turret fitted with an automated ammunition management and loading mechanism, enabling faster firing sequences and greater operational efficiency. The design enhances crew protection by allowing artillery operations to be conducted from within the armored vehicle, offering a combination of mobility, automation, and survivability for future combat environments.
