Poland’s second DELFIN-class signals intelligence vessel, ORP Henryk Zygalski, has been launched by Saab.

The ship completes the country’s two-unit DELFIN program, after the first ship, ORP Jerzy Różycki, was launched in July 2025. Both vessels will now undergo installation of mission equipment and integration testing before beginning sea trials and eventual operational service.

Equipped with advanced electronic intelligence systems, the DELFIN-class ships will monitor and analyze maritime electronic signals. Saab leads the program, while Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. handled construction and MMC of Poland contributed to design. Saab will also provide mission suite integration, supported by Polish defense partners.

The two vessels are expected to enter service in 2027 and 2028.

This program is part of Poland’s wider defense modernization, which includes the acquisition of Saab A26 submarines under the “Orka” initiative to retire the remaining Kilo-class unit, as well as a strategic cooperation framework with WB Group to explore joint development of naval, unmanned, and border defense capabilities.
