The Republic of Korea Air Force has introduced an artificial intelligence–powered tactical training and flight simulation platform, marking the nation’s first system to employ reinforcement learning (RL) technology.
Through RL, the simulator can self-learn by trial and error, receiving “rewards” for correct decisions and refining its strategies to achieve mission goals.
Developed by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), the system leverages a virtual aircraft integrated with real-world tactical data, enabling it to formulate operational strategies independently of human input.
