Israel’s F-35 fighter fleet is set to gain a new strike capability as Rafael Advanced Defense Systems integrates its SPICE 1000 air-to-surface munition with the aircraft for the first time.
Featuring an electro-optical seeker, the weapon is designed to engage fixed and high-value targets at ranges exceeding 120 kilometers (75 miles).
The SPICE 1000 uses advanced scene-matching algorithms to recognize the target area and navigate toward a preselected aim point, reducing its dependence on GPS for guidance.
