US Special Operations Command is pursuing a new synthetic data generation capability to enhance the training of artificial intelligence and computer vision models used by unmanned systems. Developed under the Unmanned Systems Autonomy and Interoperability (UxSAI) program, the initiative seeks to improve target detection, tracking, and analysis across aerial, ground, and maritime environments. By leveraging synthetic datasets, operators can accelerate AI development, reduce reliance on real-world training data, and improve interoperability among diverse unmanned platforms. The effort reflects the growing importance of autonomy, machine learning, and advanced battlefield networking in future special operations missions.
