Finnish defense company Patria is assessing the integration of mine-laying capabilities with its TRACKX all-terrain armored tracked vehicle.
Under a newly signed memorandum of understanding (MoU), Patria will examine the integration of the TRACKX flatbed variant with a mine-laying system developed by Polish defense company Bydgoskie Zakłady Elektromechaniczne BELMA S.A.
BELMA’s modular, fully automated system is designed to deploy up to 600 anti-tank mines in less than 20 minutes, providing a rapid and flexible mine-laying capability.
The proposed solution could create a highly mobile and adaptable system for selected international markets. It also supports Patria’s broader efforts to strengthen cooperation with Polish defense companies and expand its armored vehicle portfolio.
TRACKX Vehicle
The TRACKX was developed under the FAMOUS (Future Highly Mobile Augmented Armoured Systems) program, an EU-funded initiative aimed at advancing military mobility and battlefield capabilities.
Unveiled in September 2025, TRACKX is designed to operate across diverse terrain while providing NATO-standard ballistic and mine protection. The vehicle is operated by a driver and commander and can transport up to 10 personnel. It can also be equipped with a 12.7 mm machine gun for enhanced firepower.
In July 2026, Finland, Latvia, and Norway signed a statement of intent to acquire the TRACKX system. The agreement could pave the way for serial production and procurement as early as 2027.
