Australia has validated the operational integration of its Medium-Range Ground-Based Air Defense (MRGBAD) prototype through a successful live-fire demonstration held during Exercise Taipan Strike 26. Conducted at the Woomera Test Range, the trial was managed by Lockheed Martin in partnership with the US Navy. The exercise showcased the system’s engagement sequence, with a CEA Technologies radar first identifying and tracking a simulated threat before passing target data to an expeditionary configuration of the virtualized Aegis Weapon System for engagement.
