Greece is undertaking a major modernization program for its fleet of 30-year-old Mercedes G-Class military vehicles to prepare them for contemporary battlefield requirements.

Under the upgrade initiative, Hellenic Vehicle Industries (ELVO) will enhance the aging platforms with modern powertrains, including new engines and automatic transmissions. These improvements are expected to boost vehicle performance while making the vehicles easier for crews to operate.

The modernization will also include electric air-conditioning systems and redesigned interiors. The upgraded cabins will feature more ergonomic crew seating and armrests, improving comfort and usability during extended military operations.
