Thales Group is advancing portable counter-drone technology with STORM 2, a compact system worn by soldiers to defend against hostile unmanned aerial vehicles on the battlefield.
Initially developed to safeguard troops from improvised explosive devices, the system has since evolved into a localized drone-jamming solution capable of disrupting signals across 20 MHz to 6 GHz frequency bands.
With a weight of under 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds), the system is engineered to minimize strain on personnel while serving as a cyber and electromagnetic activities (CEMA) platform, giving soldiers an integrated electronic warfare capability directly on the ground.
