Saab is expanding the maritime role of its Giraffe AMB radar with the Sea Giraffe AMB D, a naval surveillance system designed to provide three-dimensional tracking of threats across both air and surface domains. The radar can detect, track and classify crewed and uncrewed targets, supporting early threat identification and enhanced maritime situational awareness. According to Saab, the system can detect aerial threats at ranges of up to 250 kilometres (155 miles) and surface targets at distances of up to 50 kilometres (31 miles), helping naval forces monitor surrounding airspace and surface activity more effectively.
