German drone manufacturer Quantum Systems has signed an agreement with Rohde & Schwarz to equip tactical unmanned aircraft with advanced SIGINT technology. The initiative will allow compact UAVs to detect, collect, and analyze electronic emissions from radars, communications networks, and air defense systems. Previously, such capabilities were mainly available on high-cost platforms like the Global Hawk or MQ-9 Reaper. The integration marks a significant step toward expanding electronic intelligence operations at the tactical battlefield level using flexible and cost-effective unmanned systems.
