Washington has cleared military support deals worth more than $428 million for India’s Apache attack helicopters and M777A2 ultra-light howitzers. The agreements include logistics support, engineering services, training, repairs, spare parts, and sustainment assistance for India’s existing defense platforms. Boeing and Lockheed Martin will support the Apache fleet, while BAE Systems will oversee the M777A2 artillery package. The US described India as a critical defense partner in the Indo-Pacific and said the support agreements would strengthen bilateral security cooperation without affecting regional military stability. India currently operates 28 AH-64E Apaches and 145 M777A2 howitzers across frontline and high-altitude missions.
