The United States has cleared a $4.67 billion deal to sell NASAMS air defense systems and support equipment to Egypt.
NASAMS, widely used in Ukraine, enhances air threat detection and response capabilities.
According to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, the sale will help Egypt counter evolving aerial threats and bolster regional stability, while advancing U.S. foreign policy by strengthening a key non-NATO ally.
Congressional approval is pending.
