The Norwegian Armed Forces have awarded Skydio a contract worth 101 million Norwegian kroner ($9.8 million) for the delivery of its small X10D unmanned aerial systems. The California-based company will provide an undisclosed quantity of drones, designed in line with U.S. military standards.

The X10D features a powerful sensor suite that includes a 48- to 64-megapixel optical camera and a Teledyne FLIR thermal unit, enabling enhanced aerial intelligence and rapid tactical responses.

The drone can be launched in less than 40 seconds, reaches speeds of 45 mph (72 km/h), and offers up to 40 minutes of flight time. With built-in electronic warfare tools, it ensures reliable control and communications in electronically contested zones.
