The US Army has created the 7th Infantry Division Multi-Domain Command-Pacific by integrating the 7th Infantry Division with the 1st Multi-Domain Task Force, establishing a new theater-focused command for Indo-Pacific operations.
A ceremony at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington marked the redesignation, with soldiers conducting the traditional casing and uncasing of unit colors. The command consolidates ground maneuver forces alongside cyber, space, intelligence, electronic warfare, and autonomous warfare capabilities within a single leadership structure.
Comprising around 12,000 troops, the new organization will play a key role in supporting operations across the Pacific while contributing to upcoming multinational and joint military exercises in the region.
