The Greek government has signed a long-term cooperation agreement with Shield AI aimed at increasing the number of V-BAT VTOL drones operated by the Hellenic Army. The unmanned systems, currently used for ISR missions, will bolster Greece’s ability to maintain continuous surveillance over maritime regions where conventional aircraft and other assets may be less effective.
As part of the agreement, Shield AI plans to open an office in Athens to provide localized support and strengthen engagement with Greek and allied defense industries. The move underscores Greece’s commitment to enhancing maritime domain awareness through advanced unmanned technologies while deepening defense cooperation with international partners.
