Israel has placed contracts worth around $200 million with Elbit Systems for the supply of advanced airborne munitions.

The contracts, issued by the Israel Ministry of Defense, are linked to “Operation Roaring Lion,” Israel’s military operations involving Iran.

The procurement includes various air-launched munitions designed to enhance the Israeli Air Force’s strike capabilities and air dominance. Although the exact systems were not specified, Elbit indicated that they are part of its cutting-edge technology portfolio.

Elbit Systems CEO Bezhalel Machlis emphasized that the company’s high-precision and dependable systems play a key role in enabling the Air Force’s operational superiority.

Israel’s recent procurement activity highlights sustained investment in munitions. In April, the Ministry of Defense awarded Elbit a $48 million contract for the production of large quantities of 155 mm artillery shells.

Earlier in January, a $183 million contract was signed to replenish air munition stockpiles, followed by two additional deals totaling $260 million in August 2025.

Additionally, in November 2025, Israel acquired Tamir interceptors from the joint venture between Raytheon and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems under a $1.25 billion agreement.

The series of procurements underscores a broader rise in defense expenditure, including an $827 million emergency funding package approved in March to support further military acquisitions.
