Raytheon has secured a $183.7 million contract from the United States to deliver new hardware and support services for the MIM-104 Patriot air defense system destined for the United Arab Emirates through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program. The firm-fixed-price deal includes the procurement of Patriot components along with installation, inspection, logistics assistance, and program management support, with activities scheduled to continue until March 3, 2031. The work will primarily be conducted in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, United States using fiscal 2026 FMS funding obligated at contract award.

Recognized as a cornerstone of modern air and missile defense, the Patriot system can track and intercept a wide range of aerial threats, including aircraft, cruise missiles, and tactical ballistic missiles. In the past year, the U.S. Department of State has approved multiple Patriot-related FMS packages to strengthen the defensive capabilities of allied nations. One such approval came in April 2025, when Romania was cleared for a possible $280 million purchase that included radar systems, launchers, and command-and-control equipment to reinforce its defenses within the NATO framework.

Further approvals extended to other partners. In November 2025, Ukraine received authorization for a $105 million Patriot sustainment package covering upgrades, spare parts, and logistical assistance. Meanwhile, Kuwait obtained two major approvals: a potential $400 million modernization and support deal in April 2025, followed by a larger authorization of up to $800 million in January 2026 to fund sustainment, maintenance, training equipment, and technical support under the FMS program.
