The US government has awarded Boeing a $2.73 billion sustainment contract to provide long-term post-production support for the Apache attack helicopter, with services scheduled to continue until 2030.

Under the agreement, Boeing will deliver maintenance, technical, and sustainment support to keep the Apache fleet fully mission capable. The scope of work includes system upgrades, spare parts supply, and technical troubleshooting aimed at maintaining high levels of operational readiness for US Army aviation units.

Apache helicopters form a critical component of US Army combat operations, supporting close air support missions, armed reconnaissance, and anti-armor warfare. To maintain the platform’s relevance, the program has undergone multiple modernization phases over the past several years.

In 2022, Boeing concluded the AH-64E Guardian modernization effort, upgrading legacy Apaches with new avionics, communications suites, and enhanced sensor technologies to strengthen battlefield awareness. The following year, the company delivered a new batch of AH-64E helicopters under the Apache Fleet Modernization program, featuring digital architecture enhancements and integration of advanced weapon systems.

Most recently, in 2024, Boeing was awarded an additional contract to supply improved Apache mission equipment packages, including advanced targeting and navigation systems, supporting both training activities and frontline operational requirements.
