The US Army has awarded PDW a $20.9 million contract for its C100 quadcopter drones and Multi-Mission Payloads.

This marks the third award for the C100 under the Transformation in Contact (TiC) program, which accelerates advanced commercial technologies from concept to deployment through operational testing.

The C100 drone is a small, modular reconnaissance platform, while its payload suite includes three mission modules that provide GPS-denied navigation, beyond-line-of-sight communications, and signals intelligence/electronic warfare capabilities.

The new systems will be issued to 18th Airborne Corps units and US Army Special Operations Command, following earlier deliveries to seven Project Manager Unmanned Aircraft Systems (PM UAS) units.

Previous contracts under TiC saw C100s deployed in Indo-Pacific, European, and Central Command areas for evaluation in live missions.

The effort is part of the Army’s ongoing small UAS modernization strategy, which includes replacing older quadcopters with more advanced, autonomous platforms. Recent milestones include the fielding of Teal drones in 2024 and the arrival of X10D unmanned systems in 2025, bridging tactical and larger UAV capabilities.
