The U.S. Department of Defense has granted Lockheed Martin a $999 million contract to support ongoing production and sustainment efforts for the JASSM and LRASM missile systems.
The contract encompasses modernization, platform integration, manufacturing, and logistics services for all versions of the missiles operated by the U.S. Air Force.
Project work will be based in Orlando, Florida, and is expected to be completed by July 17, 2030.
JASSM is a precision-guided, air-launched cruise missile designed for deep-strike missions. It features a 1,000-pound (450 kg) penetrating warhead and can reach targets more than 500 nautical miles away.
The missile is compatible with multiple aircraft platforms such as the F-15E, F-16, F/A-18, and F-35. The AGM-158B-2 variant offers enhancements like an upgraded missile control unit and an advanced GPS Anti-Jam Receiver, supporting future system development and integration improvements.
