Leonardo has unveiled FITS4TOP, a new training solution designed to push military pilot instruction into a more integrated and digitally driven future by blending live flying with virtual and synthetic environments.
Built around advanced hardware, AI, augmented reality, and next-generation avionics, FITS4TOP expands Live, Virtual, and Constructive training by allowing real aircraft, simulators, and computer-generated entities to operate together within a single mission scenario. This approach enables seamless training across air, sea, and land domains.
Pilots flying real aircraft can confront virtual threats during live missions, while instructors and other trainees participate simultaneously from simulators. The system supports step-by-step progression through increasingly demanding mission scenarios, improving realism and decision-making under pressure.
Operational and simulation data is captured, processed, and analyzed in real time, then managed by ground controllers who coordinate closely with aircrews, particularly during close air support and complex mission training.
