InsideFPV, an Indian drone manufacturer, has completed a ₹100 million ($1.2 million) contract for the defence ministry, delivering hundreds of kamikaze drones within just 60 days. The procurement was carried out under the Emergency Procurement Route, which is used to fast-track equipment acquisitions for immediate operational needs.

The drones are designed for versatility, capable of operating in high-altitude conditions, desert environments, and varied terrain. They can withstand temperatures ranging from -35°C to 50°C and are equipped to function in GPS-denied scenarios.

The company noted that the contract reflects a growing reliance on loitering munitions in modern warfare, where they are increasingly employed for precision strikes and real-time reconnaissance missions.

This delivery comes as India continues to prioritize indigenous defense production, particularly focusing on scalable and rapidly deployable unmanned systems. In response, InsideFPV is increasing its manufacturing capacity, including shifting to a larger facility spanning approximately 20,000 square feet to improve production efficiency and turnaround times.

In parallel, the company is developing advanced solutions such as interceptor drones, swarm-based systems, and navigation technologies suited for electronically contested environments. These efforts align with the Indian Army’s recently issued technology roadmap, which aims to synchronize operational requirements with technological development while expanding collaboration with domestic industry, startups, and research institutions.
