The British Army has received two Jupiter HC Mk2 helicopters, based on the H145 platform, for deployment in Brunei as part of a six-aircraft procurement. This follows Airbus’ earlier delivery of three helicopters to the UK in 2025.

Assigned to 667 Squadron Army Air Corps, the aircraft will be used for jungle training and a variety of missions, including casualty evacuation, troop movement, external cargo lifting, firefighting, general support operations, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance tasks.

The acquisition falls under a UK Ministry of Defence program approved in April 2024 to strengthen operational support for forces stationed in Brunei and Cyprus. In December 2025, Airbus Helicopters secured a £33.6 million ($45.3 million) contract to provide initial maintenance and support services for the fleet.

The remaining helicopters are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2026, with the program noted as one of the Ministry’s fastest procurement cycles due to its rapid delivery timeline.

As a light utility rotorcraft, the H145 measures approximately 14 meters in length and can accommodate up to 10 personnel alongside one or two pilots. It has a payload capacity of around 1,900 kilograms and is powered by twin turboshaft engines, offering a cruising speed of about 130 knots, a range of 650 kilometers, and an operational ceiling near 6,096 meters.
